Yes, the site is on thin ice. With Discord being the preferred method for discussing almost anything related to the field...
what can we/I do to actually get people -here- talking about this new medium?
The majority of new users and for that matter posts, are just literally spam, which I do deal with daily.
I am wide open to suggestions. And yeah, the ad situation is garbage, and I'm going to go change that next. There's not enough traffic to even warrant it so I'll probably just shut it off altogether.
The original intent of the site was a community apart from Discord where (real!) people could share their work, knowledge, and learn from one another. But, forums are a dying medium, Google's relegated them to the back burner and promoting them (or any site) via social media is a money game now.
So let's hear it. What would get you to participate more, or at all?
